OUR RUSSIAN PURPOSE

Our purpose is to develop a website that will provide useful information for learning the Russian language, and also to provide a list of resources available for this purpose. We hope to supply information to make the learning of Russian as quick, easy, and enjoyable as possible. We want to continue to add free content for learning the language as well as articles to help in sifting through the mass of educational material available.

My Russian Experience

I’m based in Denver, Colorado. I started to study Russian at the age of 43. I started to learn the language in Los Angeles because of the quarter million Russian speaking immigrants there. But now, I have Russian speaking friends around the world that I cherish because of learning the Russian language.

What I thought would take 6 months to a year has stretched out to ten years! Along the way, I’ve learned much that I hope will help new students to accelerate their learning curve.

I’ve tried many textbooks, audio books, and other methods to learn, which I will review in articles on this site in order to help you decide which methods you would like to pursue.

A course I took by Dr. Harry Cotton of the Canadian Institute of English on language teaching methods was a real eye opener. There are many methods, which we will write about on this site, to make learning the Russian language a quicker, easier process!
